DIRECTION TO STAFF : Staff to provide the Committee with a value engineering assessment process of the project and the amount of the money spent from the funding that was previously approved by Council. Desroches WHEREAS taxpayers and ratepayers who mistakenly direct payments for property taxes or for water and sewer charges to wrong accounts are charged a $31 payment distribution fee, as per By-law No. 2010-111, to cover the administrative costs of distributing the payment to the correct accounts; AND WHEREAS taxpayers and ratepayers regularly contact Councillors and staff requesting that a change of policy be made to waive this fee when it is applied to a ratepayer for the first time where the City is in receipt of the payment; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Environment Committee recommend Council approve: A by-law of the City of Ottawa to amend By-law No. 2010-111 respecting certain fees and charges in the Revenue Division. The Council of the City of Ottawa enacts as follows: 1.
