That the Health, Recreation and Social Services Committee approve the attendance of one committee member and one staff representative at the Pesticides in our Bodies / A Toxic Legacy, a health and environment conference on 18 October 2004 at McGill University, Montreal.

d’un représentant du personnel à la conférence sur la santé et l’environnement
intitulée « Les pesticides dans notre corps – Un héritage toxique »
qui aura lieu le 18 octobre 2004 à l’Université McGill, Montréal.
BACKGROUND
The Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides (CAP) will be presenting: PESTICIDES IN OUR BODIES / A TOXIC LEGACY Environment and Health Conference in Montreal next month. The conference will focus on the link between contaminants and human health problems.
The Terms of Reference for the Health, Recreation and Social Services Committee have not yet been confirmed. However, pursuant to the delegation of authority by-law (Section – Conferences and Conventions), the committee can approve Councillors travel and attendance at conferences that are relative to the Committee’s mandate.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Registration is free, but donations are being accepted. Costs incurred would include travel to and from the conference.
