nomination suivante au Comité consultatif sur les personnes âgées pour un
mandat prennant fin le 30 novembre 2009 :

BACKGROUND
Pursuant to its Terms of
Reference, the Seniors Advisory Committee (SAC) “shall have a total maximum
citizen membership of between 9-15” as follows:
·
Up to 7 seniors at large;
·
1 representative from each of the following
organizations: The Council on Aging, Senior Citizens Council of
Ottawa-Carleton;
·
2 representatives from seniors’ organizations in
Ottawa;
·
4 representatives from organizations providing
services for seniors in Ottawa; and
·
A minimum of one citizen appointment
representing the rural community
On 11 April 2007, Council
appointed Mr. Rodney Durnin as the Senior Citizens’
Council of Ottawa’s representative on the SAC.
In May 2009, Mr. Durnin advised that he would
be resigning from the Advisory Committee.
Further to this, the Senior Citizens’ Council of Ottawa has submitted
the name of Ms. Carol Rannie as its nominee to
replace Mr. Durnin on the SAC.
CONSULTATION
The Council-approved Policy for
the appointment of citizen members to advisory committees and boards requires
that the recruitment of representatives from local
organizations be done through letters of request to these organizations. Accordingly, Ms. Kathleen Gottfried,
Executive Director of the Senior Citizens Council of Ottawa, was contacted and
asked to submit the name of a nominee to replace Mr. Durnin
on the SAC. No further public
consultation has been undertaken on this matter.
