SUBJECT: INTERPROVINCIAL TRANSIT SERVICES

OBJET: SERVICES DE TRANSPORT EN COMMUN INTERPROVINCIAUX

REPORT RECOMMENDATION

That the Transit Committee recommend that the City approach the City of Gatineau with a view of establishing a joint decision making body of elected officials to deal with integration issues of the interprovincial transit services.

Que le Comité du transport en commun recommande que la Ville se mette en relation avec la Ville de Gatineau dans le but d’approuver une décision commune visant à constituer un groupe de représentants élus qui traitera des questions d’intégration des services de transport en commun interprovinciaux

BACKGROUND

At the Joint Transportation Committee and Transit Committee Meeting held on 15 August 2007, Councillor Legendre brought forward the aforementioned Notice of Motion, for consideration at the next meeting.

CONSULTATION

Planning, Transit and the Environment Staff is aware of this motion and will respond to any questions at the meeting.

This item will be advertised in the local dailies as part of the Public Meeting Advertisement on Friday preceding the Transportation Committee Meeting.
