2009 Q2                     Solicit applications for Parking Stakeholders Consultation Group membership

 

2009 Q 2 – Q4           Continue participation in Cash-in-Lieu of Parking Review (amendments to bylaw and changes to process will result)

 

2009 Q3                     Amend Tariff of Fees Bylaw & Delegation of Authority Bylaw in accordance with the Parking Rate Setting Guideline

 

2009 Q3                     Review possible reduction of Vanier on-street parking rates due to extremely low utilization rates.

 

2009 Q3                     Create Parking Reserve Fund and restate 2009 budget

 

2009 Q3                     First Meeting of the Parking Stakeholders Consultation Group

 

2009 Q4                     Initiate Local Area Parking Study #2  (Area to be determined)

 

2010 Q1                     Implement Pay and Display technology

Municipal Parking Management Program

Key Operational Initiatives Required during 2009 / 2010

 

·               Continue operation of On-street Permit Program

 

 

·               Continue operation of On-Street Paid Parking Program

 

 

·               Continue operation of Off-Street Paid Parking Program

 

o        Review all off-street facilities to identify opportunities to designate spaces and charge a preferential rate for scooters, motorcycles (1/2 price where practical), registered car/van pool vehicles, and smart cars.

o        Install lock bolts for scooters at any designated two-wheeler spaces where required

o        Continue to review and comment on circulations affecting the Municipal Parking Management Program including CIL applications, re-zoning applications, infra-structure circulations, and special projects (e.g. Lansdowne Live)

o        Identify and respond to short-term parking deficiencies through changes to existing regulations or expansions of the City’s inventory of on-street metered spaces or off-street facilities and lots

o        Identify and respond to the acute parking problems and needs associated with large festivals and special events

 

 

·               Continue operation of Tour Bus Parking Program

 

 

·               Continue operation of Marketing and Promotion Program

 

 

·               Continue operation of Parking Enforcement Program
