Ottawa's oldest stone building, built in 1827, nestled on the Rideau Canal.

Join a behind-the-scenes tour of Ottawa's oldest stone building and home to the Bytown Museum: the Commissariat in its centennial year. In 2017, the Museum will celebrate the Women's Canadian Historical Society of Ottawa who founded the collection in 1898 and opened the Bytown Historical Museum in 1917. Watch history come to life as the Museum opens its doors, and historic centennial exhibition, to you!
