PSA: Canada Day schedule changes

Ottawa - The City of Ottawa would like to remind residents of the following schedule changes for Canada Day (Sunday, July 1).

Client services:

  • Ottawa City Hall and all seven Client Service Centres, including the Government Service Centre located at 110 Laurier Avenue West, will be closed on Monday, July 2 for Canada Day. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday, July 3.
  • The City’s Provincial Offences Court, located at 100 Constellation Crescent, will also be closed on Monday, July 2 for Canada Day. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday, July 3.
  • The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters requiring the City’s immediate attention. Call 3-1-1 or 613-580-2400 to speak to a customer service representative. For persons living with a hearing-related disability, call (TTY: 613-580-2401).

Garbage and recycling:

  • Curbside green bin, recycling or garbage collection and multi-residential recycling container collection (garbage and recycling) will not be affected by the Canada Day holiday. Collection will remain on a regular schedule for the week of July 2.
  • The Trail Waste Facility is closed on Canada Day.

Transit service:

  • OC Transpo will operate a special holiday schedule on Canada Day and offer free service after 10 p.m. Seniors who show their ticket to the Mayor's Breakfast at Lansdowne Park can ride OC Transpo free all day on July 1. Routes 120, 123, 137, 150, 151, 161, 171, 173, 177, 178 and all peak period routes will not operate July 1. A Sunday schedule will operate on holiday Monday, July 2.   • OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres will be closed on Canada Day, with the exception of the Rideau Centre office, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, on Monday, July 2 the Sales and Information Centres at St. Laurent, Lincoln Fields and Orléans will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the exception of the Rideau Centre location, which will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The OCTranspo Information Centre (613-741-4390) will be open from 7 a.m. to 9p.m. on Canada Day and from 7 a.m. to 9p.m. on Monday, July 2.
  • OC Transpo Customer Relations Department (613-842-3600) will be closed on Monday, July 2 for Canada Day. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday, July 3

Recreation services:

  • Some outdoor pools, indoor pools and fitness centres will be open on Canada Day for public swimming, and fitness classes with modified schedules. Please check withottawa.ca or the facility of your choice for details.
  • All beaches, splash pads and some wading pools, will be open on Canada Day, weather permitting.
  • Most registered programs at swimming pools, community centres and arenasare cancelled on Canada Day, however, clients should check with their facilityto confirm, as some exceptions will apply.

  • All branches, departments and services of the Ottawa Public Library will be closed on Monday, July 2 for Canada Day. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday, July 3.
