PSA: Lane reductions scheduled on Holland Avenue begin Monday

Ottawa – Holland Avenue between Scott Street and Wellington Street will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction. The lane reduction will also be extended from Wellington Street to Tyndall Street beginning Monday, September 17 at 9 a.m. until late fall 2012 as part of the Holland Avenue watermain reconstruction project.

Traffic disruptions will be kept to a minimum. Vehicles are reminded to use caution when sharing the lane with cyclists. OC Transpo service will remain along the road during the construction period.

The Holland Avenue watermain reconstruction is a $4 million project that will replace a 100 year old watermain between Scott Street and Tyndall Street. The current watermain will be replaced and upgraded for capacity and small sections of sewer will also be replaced. Wider sidewalks along this parcel of road will be installed.

Further information on this project can be found at the City of Ottawa’s website at: http://www.ottawa.ca/en/city_hall/planningprojectsreports/construction/projects/hollandave/index.htm

Ottawa on the Move will see $340 million of capital projects completed from 2012 to 2015 and is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
