Ottawa - The Planning and Growth Management Department of the City of Ottawa is seeking expressions of interest from members of the heritage community to assist in the judging of the 2011/2012 Ottawa Architectural Conservation Awards.
The awards are given out every second year to recognize excellence in heritage conservation. Awards may be given in the following categories:
- Restoration
- Adaptive Re-use
- Infill
- Additions
- Other (changes depending on the submissions – could be a monument, engineering work or historic garden).
The City is seeking three volunteers from the community who have expertise in heritage conservation. Volunteers should be familiar with current best practices in heritage restoration, adaptive re-use, and infill in an historic context. The judging is expected to take one day in November and the City will provide transportation and lunch. The judging will take place either on November 14 or November 17, 2012. The final date for the judging will be determined once the jury has been assembled, depending on the individual schedules.
