Information for Candidates


Nominations for the City of Ottawa 2010 municipal election will be accepted as of January 4, 2010 and may be filed until the close of nominations on Friday, September 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. Nomination Papers are available online and also at all Client Service Centres and the Elections Office.

The offices for nomination are:

  • Mayor – one elected at large
  • City Councillor – one elected per ward, in 23 City of Ottawa wards
  • School Board Trustees – one elected per zone (The number of zones will be established by spring 2010)
    • Ottawa-Carleton District School Board
    • Ottawa Catholic School Board
    • Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario
    • Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est
