Proposed Private Road Name Change

Notice is being provided to the public that a replacement street name has been submitted to change the name of an existing private road.

Current name: Hadley Court
Proposed name: Alison Korn Private

Reason for proposed name change:

This street name change is necessary to eliminate the confusion that is currently being caused by having two streets with duplicate street names and duplicate civic numbers.

The proposed name is to commemorate Alison Korn,a 1996 Canadian Olympic silver medalist, 2000 Olympic bronze medalist, and a 1997 and 1998 World Rowing Champion.

Since that time, Alison has worked extensively with paralympic athletes, providing essential services, encouragement, and support. Alison's work empowers paralympic athletes to compete on the world's stage, and serves as an example for Ottawans in working to reduce discrimination against athletes with disabilities in Canada.

Any objections to the proposed replacement name should be submitted in writing to the address below by mail, Fax or e-mail by August 26, 2016 and should state specifically why the proposed name does not satisfy the requirements of Addressing By-law 2014-78 with respect to efficient wayfinding and public safety.
