The revitalization of Lansdowne was planned beginning in 2009, in a series of initiatives approved by Ottawa Council. On June 28, 2010, Council voted to proceed with the redevelopment of Lansdowne through a partnership of the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group. Lansdowne will include the refurbishment of the stadium and Civic Centre, creation of a large urban park and construction of a mixed-use area that includes shops, offices and residences.
