Pet Shop By-law Review

As part of the 2015 Council-approved By-law Review Strategy, Council has directed staff to review Schedule 29 of the Business Licensing By-law (2002-189, as amended), respecting pet shops, to consider restricting the sale of cats, dogs and rabbits in pet shops to adoption through specific non-commercial sources, such as humane societies and rescue groups.

The City is interested in the views of residents on the subject, and invites you to review the Discussion Paper, then complete the electronic Comment Sheet and submit it by February 29, 2016. Any additional comments may be sent to bylawreviews@ottawa.ca

Staff will review the comments received and report back to the Community and Protective Services Committee and Council accordingly.

Notice:  The Community and Protective Services Committee will consider a staff report on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the Champlain Room, 110 Laurier Avenue West. To register to speak, contact: 613-580-2424 ext. 28821 or Marc.Desjardins@ottawa.ca
