RSS feeds

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) makes it easy for you to stay up to date with City of Ottawa news. Using an RSS Reader, you can have City of Ottawa content delivered to your own website, desktop reader, or news reader application. Simply subscribe to one of the feeds below, and your reader will automatically retrieve updates from the City as they are posted. Please see below for instructions.

 How to subscribe to an RSS feed:

 If you don’t currently use an RSS reader, here are some tips on how to start:

 

Chrome:

 

Firefox:

  • Copy and paste the RSS feed’s URL into the address field and hit enter.
  • You should see a box at the top of the page asking if you want to subscribe to the feed – you can choose to have it added to Microsoft Outlook or choose another application.
  • If you choose Outlook, it will take you to Outlook where you can click on “yes” to subscribe and you will see “Newsroom” appear in your RSS Feeds folder of your mailbox.

 

Internet Explorer:

  • Copy and paste the RSS feed’s URL into the address field and hit enter.
  • You should see a box at the top of the page asking if you want to subscribe to the feed. Click that option.
  • Choose the folder to place the feeds and click subscribe.
  • To view feeds, click on “Favourites” from the Favourites Bar and select “Newsroom.”

 

Microsoft Outlook:

  • Right click on the RSS Feeds folder in your mailbox and select Add a new RSS Feed.
  • Paste the URL provided and click Add and then Yes. You should then see “Newsroom” added to the RSS feed mailbox with a list of the latest items.
