The Nepean Visual Arts Centre offers specialty arts classes taught by accomplished artists - painters, potters, illustrators, sculptors, photographers - in custom studio spaces for participants of all levels of ability.

From preschool to adult, students experience a diversity of arts instruction in a creative and dynamic environment. Artists also have the opportunity to display their artwork at Nepean Visual Arts Centre’s studio gallery. Our sister facility - The Nepean Creative Arts Centre offers programming in performing arts as well as visual arts. The NCAC arts-specific studios include music, dance and visual arts studios, a black box theatre and set construction workshop.

They bring such experience as an illustrator, graphic designer, cartoonist, photographer, potter, painter, teacher or a visual artist.

Rentals

Renting a rehearsal and creation studio

Ideal for visual arts and pottery activities, five studios are equipped for arts workshops, retreats and events. Natural lighting, easels, a pottery hand building studio and a wheel room with 12 wheels including an accessible wheel, are available to rent. Or, book a specialized workshop with our skilled instructors.

 

 

Arts-specific studios include:

  • High quality instruction in studios equipped for arts
  • Natural lighting
  • Easels
  • Exhibition and performance opportunities
  • Pottery handbuilding studio and wheel room with 12 wheels including an accessible wheel
  • Glazing (sixteen glazes offered) and firing provided (Note: Participants in pottery programs must provide their own clay and tools. All clay MUST be purchased at the NVAC at a fee per bag. An assortment of clays are available.)

The Nepean Visual Arts Centre is located in the Nepean Sportsplex and offers free parking and bus service.

From Highway 417

Take the Woodroffe exit and turn south. Proceed south about 3 km. The Sportsplex is just past West Hunt Club Rd. intersection on the left (east side).

From Highway 416

From Highway 416 (heading north from Hwy 401) Exit at West Hunt Club Rd. At the stop sign turn right onto Cedarview Rd. (south). Take the first left turn (east) onto West Hunt Club. Proceed east to Woodroffe Ave., turn right (south), the Sportsplex is immediately on the left (east side).
