From April 23 to 30, crews will begin installing more than 40 shipping containers along one block of York Street to create Ottawa 2017’s Inspiration Village. Temporary lane closures of 15 to 30 minutes may be required while the cranes and sea containers are brought to the site. The on-street parking spaces on York Street between Sussex Drive and ByWard Market Square will be unavailable from April 23 until Inspiration Village is removed on September 20.
All entry-points to the ByWard Market will be open, including York Street, during set-up and event dates. There will still be plenty of parking nearby with more than 3,000 parking spots available in the area and over 8,000 spaces in the greater area. OC Transpo is also a great way to get to the site, with many bus routes stopping on nearby Rideau Street or the Mackenzie King Transitway Station.
