City of Ottawa’s Winterlude 2016 activities get underway

Ottawa - Mayor Jim Watson and Yasir Naqvi, Member of Provincial Parliament for Ottawa Centre, will officially launch the Winterlude 2016 events taking place at the City’s partner sites: Lansdowne Park, City Hall and Shenkman Arts Centre.


Date: Thursday, January 28

Time: 11 a.m.

Location: Aberdeen Square, Lansdowne Park

In case of inclement weather: inside Aberdeen Pavilion
450 Queen Elizabeth Drive (North side of Aberdeen Pavilion)

Paid parking is available on site.


Immediately following the event, enjoy demonstrations of:


  • Snow carving, with students from First Avenue Public School
  • Snow painting, with the Ottawa School of Art
  • Outdoor curling, on the Lansdowne Skating Court
  • Snowshoe running with Mad Trapper and Run Ottawa


And… the Winterlude Ice Hog Family will be there, along with free hot chocolate courtesy of TD, at TD Place, Lansdowne Park.
