Ottawa - Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is seeking feedback from residents and stakeholders on proposed options to protect the public from the harms of second-hand smoke and vapour from the smoking of non-tobacco combustible substances and the use of electronic cigarettes in public places and workplaces.

The Let’s Clear the Air 2.0 consultation plan includes potential new regulations relating to the use of water-pipes and electronic cigarettes in public establishments. These changes, if adopted by Council, would impact existing by-laws in place to help protect residents from the harms of second-hand smoke.

Starting January 11, 2016, residents and stakeholders can share their views:

  • Online at This bilingual online consultation includes nine short questions and can be accessed from January 11, 2016 to January 24, 2016.
  • Call the OPH Information Line at 613-580-6744 (TTY: 613-580-9656).
