Feature Stories

Winterlude is weeks away but it’s not too early to get in on the fun. Registration has already begun for some events.

We are seeking teams to compete in the inaugural Snowshoe Ultimate Tournament on February 14. We’re joining the Ottawa-Carleton Ultimate Association and outdoor group Mad Trapper to search for the top local snowshoe team. Register now.

Not sure how good you are on snowshoes? Run Ottawa and Mad Trapper will offer four separate training sessions to help you get better and stronger on snowshoes. You can register now to learn how to walk, run, cross-train and play Ultimate on snowshoes.

Think you’re the next Henry “Brrrris”, or “Shiver-on” Walker? Get your pals together and play touch football in the snow in the Blizzard Bowl February 6. Adult teams of all levels can register (barcode #1033665). Organized by the Bytown Touch Football League.

What’s Winterlude without snow sculptures? Register for the City Snowscapes Community Snow Sculpture contest by January 22. Up to 10 teams will be selected to compete based on creativity, technique and visual appeal.  In the meantime, get your team together and plan on joining the fun.

And all this is happening at Lansdowne.
