  • Volleyball net rentals: $15 per hour or $50 per day, stand up paddleboards $20 per hour.
    Inquire at any beach’s Lifeguard office.

A somewhat smaller beach and park located on NCC property at Kitchissippi Lookout on the Ottawa River.

Stay safe this summer

  • There is no substitute for your supervision!
  • Always be within arms' reach of your children!
  • Drink lots of water, wear light-colored clothing, a hat, and good sunglasses
  • Use waterproof sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more at least 30 minutes before sun exposure and remember to keep re-applying.

Calling all future lifeguards! Come participate in a 2 week training camp (Monday to Friday) to develop lifesaving and leadership skills. Participants will work towards their Standard First Aid and CPR ‘C’, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross.

JWLC - Sports Camp

Participants will train in lifesaving sport on the beach using specialized equipment like torps, surf skis and paddleboards. Each week will have a new focus; run, swim and paddleboard/surf ski.  This camp will run Monday to Friday.

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) comes to Ottawa Beaches

The latest craze in outdoor water fun is sweeping from Hawaii to beaches around the world, including Ottawa! Within one class you can become comfortable on your board and begin experiencing the benefits and enjoyment of SUP. Fitness enthusiasts use it as a cross training activity for core conditioning, coordination and balance. All rentals and classes are complete with equipment (Stand Up Paddleboards and Personal Floatation Devices).

Beach Volleyball

For competitive or recreational volleyball, head to Britannia Park or Mooney's Bay this summer. Volleyballs and nets can also be rented on a first-come, first serve basis at City of Ottawa beaches.

Beach Volleyball is offered for female players as young as 10 years through the Girls n' Women and Sports program. Volleyball players can also take part in co-ed leagues, instructional play or recreational games
