The Barbara Ann Scott Gallery is comprised of a collection of memorabilia generously donated to the City of Ottawa by Mrs. Scott-King.
The exhibit follows Mrs. Scott-King’s beginnings as a young figure skater at the Minto Figure Skating Club and her ascent to a national, world and Olympic champion generously donated to the City of Ottawa by Mrs. Scott-King. Mrs. Scott-King is the only person to hold the Canadian, North American, European and World championship titles and the Olympic gold medal simultaneously.
After winning a gold medal at the 5th Winter Olympic Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland in 1948, Mrs. Scott-King was referred to as Canada’s sweetheart. She was feted with a parade and awarded the key to the city upon her return to Ottawa.
The gallery showcases Mrs. Scott-King’s remarkable achievements, with historic photographs, trophies and her champion gold medal.
