Pinhey's Point Historic Site
Pinhey's Point is an 88-acre historic site and estate located on the scenic shores of the Ottawa River. The estate, "Horaceville" was the home of Hamnett Kirkes Pinhey, a British settler who was a leading member of Upper Canada. The Pinhey family lived in the home until the early 1970s. This is a great place for boaters, picnickers and people who just want to enjoy the green space. Tours of the house and the ruins of Old St. Mary's Church are available upon request.
Exhibits
Pinhey’s Point features a number of exhibits throughout the house. Visitors can learn about the life of the Hon. Hamnett Kirkes Pinhey, his family and property, his neighbours in the surrounding March Township, and about 19th century domestic life and arts.
To mark the 400th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain’s passage up the Ottawa River, the Pinhey’s Point Foundation will be staging two special summer long exhibits. Whose Astrolabe? sheds light on the controversy surrounding the Champlain astrolabe and explores its use as a cultural symbol. The second exhibit looks at W.H. Bartlett’s 19th century engravings of the Ottawa River and their appearance on ceramics and other domestic objects.

Open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

By donation only. Your generous donations support our programs and events.
Location
The museum is located at 270 Pinhey’s Point Road in Dunrobin, 20 minutes outside of Kanata.
Driving directions
- Take March Road off Hwy 417 to Dunrobin Road. Turn right on Riddel Drive.
- Follow it left onto Sixth Line Road for about 5km until you reach Pinhey's Point Road.
- Free parking and room for buses to park at the museum.
Public transportation is not available for the museum.

Pinhey's Point is a charming location to hold an outdoor wedding ceremony or reception and is available for company picnics and family reunions.
