2010 Ottawa OMBI Performance Report

The OMBI 2010 Performance Benchmarking Report provides 140 comparative performance measures relating to 28 different City services. The information gives both Ottawa City Councillors and residents an idea of how programs and services are performing, compared with those delivered by the other 15 participating municipalities. Council and staff also refer to this information when making budgetary decisions.

The 2010 report indicates that Ottawa is performing quite well, with 66 per cent of the reported measures at or better than the median results. Overall, Ottawa’s 2010 performance has remained stable, compared with the 2009 and 2008 results.

The reported measures are divided into four categories:

  • Service level
  • Community service
  • Efficiency
  • Community impact

Through OMBI and other initiatives, City staff continues to uncover strengths and areas for improvement in service delivery, and passes along best practices in areas where it leads.

By increasing our understanding of the factors that affect performance, we can contribute to more efficient service delivery — and better services for our residents.
