Hunting for a summer job is actually a winter job! The prime objective of the Summer Student Employment Program is to give students experience in a dynamic work place environment and offer learning opportunities that will develop and improve their skills for future employment.
If you are thinking of applying for a position with the City of Ottawa as a lifeguard or swimming instructor, there are certain hiring and screening requirements that must be met. National Lifeguard Service (NLS), Standard First Aid, CPR level-C, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI), LSS Lifesaving Instructor, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and Oxygen Therapy or Airway Management represent pre-requisites for hire with the City of Ottawa.
