Property Standards (By-law No. 2013 - 416)

The Property Standards By-law (By-law No. 2013-416) provides standards under which properties are maintained. The Property Standards by-law regulates residential properties, non-residential properties, vacant buildings, vacant lands, open space land, and Heritage Properties. For issues such as waste and debris or ice and snow accumulation, please refer to Property Maintenance By-law (By-law No. 2005-208).

Highlights:

  • Property Standards regulates yards, sewage and drainage, safe passage of walkways, fences/enclosures, accessory buildings, garbage disposal, vermin prevention, structural soundness, plumbing, heating, ventilation and electrical services.
