Hear, I'm calling
Softly
Dear, I'm falling
Catch me

Hear, I’ve spoken
Softly

Lyrics for « C OKAY »

Même quand ça va bien on cherche mieux

Translated lyrics for C OKAY

How can we manage to be happy
Even when all’s fine, we want better
Every once in a while I wonder
What the future’s got in store for me

Sometimes life doesn’t want to go our way
Even when we do the best we can
We all just want to be happy, even slightly

When everything falls, and everything breaks
I’ll tell myself things will turn out great
From dawn until dusk, I can only pray
And tell myself it’ll all be OK
When black and white switch, and everything’s grey
I’ll tell myself some things in life stay
From dawn until dusk, I can only pray
And tell myself it’ll all be OK

Despite all my doubts, one thing I know,
Even out of change, I still have hope
I can just rise above the sorrow
And trust in what’s coming tomorrow

Sometimes life doesn’t want to go our way
Even when we do the best we can
We all just want to be happy, even slightly

When everything falls, and everything breaks
I’ll tell myself things will turn out great
From dawn until dusk, I can only pray
And tell myself it’ll all be OK
When black and white switch, and everything’s grey
I’ll tell myself some things in life stay
From dawn until dusk, I can only pray
And tell myself it’ll all be OK

All I want is to find happiness
Lots of joy or even a bit less

All I want is to find happiness
Lots of joy or even a bit less

    by Fire Antlers
More details for Fire Antlers

Bio

Fire Antlers is the jittery, pulsating beat of a half-functioning robot sent to Canada’s Capital to warn us about events that will probably never happen, backed by the sparkling chug of a muted surf guitar and the existential crooning of a thirty year old office worker... Travis Kinnear, supported by his archaic drum machine, crafts a unique blend of lo-fi pop and sci-folk that is danceable and layered with internal reflections: like some classic car cruising through the cosmos where the passing scenery causes you to ponder past relationships and inevitable futures.

Lyrics for Joie de Vivre

Since I sent you away for your insignificant problems
you might be gone but the problems stay
and I'm here hoping inside for a message
to ward off my worst delusions
you might be gone, but I still feel cold.

Like the time, by the waterside,
when you felt too shy to let the mud into your skin (it was perfect skin).

Well I guess that's all for the sympathetic side of me,
I feel bad, but that's what you get for trying to mess with my joie de vivre.
If mutual anger made us whole, then I'd rather be an empty soul.

I've lost count of the ways that I find your issues hard to comprehend,
Impossible to tolerate, and yeah you know,
Sometimes I still think about you,
because I hope you can recover from the negativity that you wear so well.

Like the time, at the stone wall,
when you held us back with your impractical shoes (set us up to lose)

Lyrics for Arms Wide Open

I've made up my mind
Had enough of your charm and your teasing smile
I've been a fool too many times

I'm acting crazy got no time for feeling butterflies
Didn't know I could feel it
But I felt it for you

Take me, take me where you wanna go
Anywhere I follow
Teach me, teach me how to love with arms wide open, arms wide open oh

Maybe it's alright
If I just let you under my skin
We could make something beautiful

Running in circles
Trying to get your attention
You do it to me the way you make me weak

Take me, take me where you wanna go
Anywhere I follow
Teach me, teach me how to love with arms wide open, arms wide open oh
Save me, make me feel this love cannot be broken, can't be broken oh
Take these, take these hands and take me where you wanna go

Maybe it's alright if I love you a little
Love you a little bit
maybe it's alright if you love me a little
Love me a little bit

Take me, take me where you wanna go
Anywhere I follow
Teach me, teach me how to love with arms wide open, arms wide open oh
Save me, make me feel this love cannot be broken, can't be broken oh
Take these, take these hands and take me where you wanna go

Lyrics for Pigeon-voyageur

Voyageurs
Tout de neuf
Dans nos coeurs
De pigeons
Voyageurs
Et que l'ici
Soit ailleurs
Et que l'ici soit ailleurs.

Translation of Pigeon-voyageur

In the heart of plants that grow
In the eyes of passing time
Must we at the end of our days
Admit we didn’t dare enough?

In the glow of our passion
In the sunlight of our loves
When will we remember our eternal return?

When daily life leads us astray
And spring is on its way
Are we not just receptacles of skin
Listening to the wind?

Our words are sounds that carry far
But explain nothing
So poems die with desire
To curl up in our hands

Waltz to the four winds
Let here be somewhere else
And everything new
In our hearts
Homing
Pigeons
Everything new
In our hearts
Homing
Pigeons
Let here
Be somewhere else
Let here be somewhere else

Lyrics for Stay Warm

Stay warm, come near
Stay warm, you're welcome here

it's not a sweet season for everyone at one time
people got their reasons and they're heavy ones, sometimes
the weather can be unkind, plus it
seems there's never any
sunshine... feeling out of step can leave you tongue-tied
sun blind, gazing up at monochromatic skies
wanna run hide, wanna come back inside, try to unwind
People having fun is not a fun sight when you're not one of em
But we can build a fort and uninvite em if they don't got love in em
Cookies in a hot oven, I'm making cocoa, you might want nog and rum
I just had a hot dog for lunch, i could make you another one
Get the puzzles out, put a record on, give my pets a gentle kneading
Do some reading, throw a log on the blaze or crank the central heating.
Feeling better now, ugly sweater now, we can
let it out, be quiet or shout, only friends around
Come inside and stay, it'd be a crying shame
if the only thing to keep us warm was climate change

Stay warm, come near
Stay warm, you're welcome here

It's not always easy to stay warm. through drizzle and miserable rainstorms
As you wait for the bus that would take you to Bayshore
It's late! You're in the path of rush hour traffic getting splashed with slush
Haven't had lunch since your Cap'n Crunch, lord knows you never asked for much
That's enough, you're done with people - some ain't great and some are evil
Teeming streets of heaving masses, feeling watched but nobody sees you
I believe you, I can understand, hypothermic winter wonderland
I'm concerned with cold that creeps in, count your toes and fingers on your hand
We're not perfect, we all make mistakes, I've caused hurt at times I hate to say
I've dropped words that cut like razor blades. Watch for falling ice, balk and fade away
so I get it if you wanna disappear
But listen here, it's crystal clear . you'll fit together with the rest of us in here
It's not that we're so hot, but we help each other a lot
The party is pretty much WYSIWYG, but we fog up the windows at Fezziwig's
Yeah! We could hibernate like bears, or lie awake right here
It's the end and the beginning of the year! Be welcome!

Stay warm
Come near
Stay warm
You're welcome here to stay

Lyrics for Candy

You said, “Don't worry now,
there's nobody else I want to feel with.

I want to feel.
Watch how your body and mine collide.
Nothing between us: just you and I.

Leave the faith that tries to answer.
Leave faith in others.

I'm a believer, do I get a prize?
Transmigration?
Or me in you?

I listen as you stare right through me,
inside that little black dress.
Sheer enough to share the line
that draws your perfect oscillating shape.
Sheer enough to let me wander
across your holy state.

Can I stay forever?
Everyday?
I'll never leave this place.

You said, “Don’t stop
until I reach the sky.”
Please keep me up there,
please keep me up.

Our first communion,
both knees on the ground.
My host in your care,
without the hands.
The Eucharist caressing my tongue inside,
I'd eat it all day.
I'd eat it all.

The last meal left you full and so satisfied.
No room for candy.
Just you and I.

Lyrics for Reconciliation

[LB] We shine bright like the colors of the sunset/
We fell asleep with our eyes red/
And we woke up with the truth that we bled/
We need truth and reconciliation/
It’s the rehabilitation of our nation..of our nation/
They destroyed our creation…of seven generations/
We are Mothers creation/ Now it’s time to heal our nation/

This song is dedicated to all the survivors/
If you forgot…this song is to help remind us/
Protect the culture, protect the language, share their stories, cause they’re all sacred/
All the children lost, all those lives taken/
150 years of hearts breaking/
Our family structure is all broken/
Our 8th fire is now smokin’/
The Indian Act is still part of legislation/
The TRC put together some recommendations/
This conservative government just rejected them/
But the truth is we’re the ones rejecting them/
Prime Minister Harper he must of lost his mind/
He’s so out of shape he needs a blanket exercise/
No Conspiracy theory we see your devils eye/
Hear the Warriors singing making the song cry/
Hold your eagle feathers up and put em up high/
Truth and Reconciliation is a state of mind/
We gotta heal our nation…now is the time/ The answer is in your heart, if you look, you shall find/

[LB] We shine bright like the colors of the sunset/
We fell asleep with our eyes red/
And we woke up with the truth that we bled/
We need truth and Reconciliation/
It’s the rehabilitation of our nation..of our nation/
They destroyed our creation…of seven generations/
We are Mothers creation/ Now it’s time to heal our nation/

[Albert Dumont] The only ways there is going to be Reconciliation…is if there’s empathy…the real stuff…where you put yourselves in our boots…and look at your children and your grandchildren…and it’s as simple as that…if your mind can’t go their well then you don’t have a clue…we really do have to fix things…at all cost!

Lyrics for Ice and Snow

I‘ve been fooled by the mean and the clever
A sweet heart like yours comes once in forever

All this ice and snow
May try to keep me cold
But you have got your ways
To warm me to the bone

I have stormed from houses I’ve been loved in
A sweet heart like yours love will keep our house lived in

All this ice and snow
May try to keep me cold
But you have got your ways
To warm me to the bone

Forget the weather for a while
Let’s come together to beguile
The cold winters’ night

All this ice and snow
May try to keep me cold
But you have got your ways
To warm me to the bone

Lyrics for Wake Up

I think I lost, lost all control
A big world and I feel so small,
Hide my emotion behind a screen
To fill the void inside my soul

Human interaction makes the world go round,
The people wanna know that they are not alone
Thinking we are living but we’re half not whole
Infected by a virus taking over the world

Try to fight it
Maybe we can make it but I doubt it
And though I need it still I try to hide it
Cause honestly there’s nothing else just like it
Because I like it
I get excited,
Cause nothing else can give me what it does to me

And we can say that we’re happy we’re not even close
This whole generation on an overdose
My mind only living in a comatose
And I’m just staring at the wire waiting to wake up

Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up

I think I lost, lost it all
Everything inside I’m,
Exposing all that’s mine and really thinking that it’s fine but we are fools,
Fools, if we continue life like,
Everything’s alright I’m really trying hard to fight for mine

Human interaction makes the world go round,
The people wanna know that they are not alone
Thinking we are living but we’re half not whole
Infected by a virus taking over the world

Try to fight it
Maybe we can make it but I doubt it
And though I need it still I try to hide it
Cause honestly there’s nothing else just like it
Because I like it
I get excited,
Cause nothing else can give me what it does to me

And we can say that we’re happy we’re not even close
This whole generation on an overdose
My mind only living in a comatose
And I’m just staring at the wire waiting to wake up

This is so foul,
On this phone I need to hop in the shower,
Low key praying that this loses power,
Over my subconscious I’ve been a coward
And it’s been an hour
But I got all this drama waiting for me at home,
Things I got handle when I leave my room,
Super duper waitress laying up on my shoulder,
I can’t control the things that I do,
Cause I can’t move,
But the escape, the escape is calling me
And I can’t afford to lose peace of mind,
Cause this peace of mind well it’s all of me

Try to fight it
Maybe we can make it but I doubt it
And though I need it still I try to hide it
Cause honestly there’s nothing else just like it
Because I like it
I get excited,
Cause nothing else can give me what it does to me

And we can say that we’re happy we’re not even close
This whole generation on an overdose
My mind only living in a comatose
And I’m just staring at the wire waiting to wake up

Lyrics for Fault Lines

showing off in your father’s car
chasing girls, you’re the local star
you’re seventeen years old, and your future waits
you’re hanging around, you blast Rick Ross
unaware of the girls’ lives lost
you’re the hometown hero, and mom says you’d do no wrong
these days for you are games to be played
to be conquered and boasted and laid to waste
you were supposed to claim the victory and not the crime
when I woke up, I thought I was dead
they told me walk it off, with these broken legs
because boys will always do what you did to me
you’re hanging around, you laugh with the boys
unaware of the girls you destroyed
because you know that the heroes always win
these days for me are knives to the chest
forced to smile with each laboured breath
and every girl I know lives on a fault line
you left me for dead but i am not yet
i will learn to walk with broken legs
these days for me are incredible miracles
my future waits for me now to live for
and I won’t stay your jane doe anymore
you left me for dead but i am not yet
i will learn to walk with broken legs

Lyrics for When I'm With You

Where is this road leading?
What should I believe in?
Finding more and more questions each day
When life has got me beaten
And I'm having trouble keeping
The parts of me I've lost along the way

But as long as you're by my side
Gonna make it through the night

Even if the stars collide
And the sun falls from the sky
Even if the world divides
I will always be alive
When I'm with you

You're the light that shines, awakens
Of each day I'm embracing
Your love is like an ocean to my soul
You're the brave and open hearted
You're the change that love started
And I know that I will never be alone

Just as long as you're by my side
Gonna make it through the night

Even if the stars collide
And the sun falls from the sky
Even if the world divides
I will always be alive
When I'm with you

Walk through the fire, no universe is higher
Shine a little brighter...Oh...
When I'm With You
I discover our hearts bleed for each other
There's nothing stronger than us

Even if the stars collide
And the sun falls from the sky
Even if the world divides
I will always be alive
When I'm with you

Lyrics for You’ve Become The Sea

I am the night you are the dawn
I am the singer and you are the song
I've been lost a long long time but you're the reason I believe
If my love is a river you've become the sea

I am the bread you are the wine
I know the fortune I've seen the signs
I've been lost a long long time but you're the reason I believe
If my love is a river you've become the sea

You've become the dawn that breaks the night
You've become the dream I've kept in sight
As my waves return to shore, I never ask for more
You've become the sea
And like the river flows into the sea
I will give you all that's left of me
My love is a river and you've become the sea

I've been lost a long long time but you're the reason I believe
If my love is a river you've become the sea

You've become the dawn that breaks the night
You've become the dream I've kept in sight
As my waves return to shore, I never ask for more
You've become the sea
And like the river flows into the sea
I will give you all that's inside me
My love is a river and you've become the sea
Yes my love is a river and you've become the sea
You've become the sea

Lyrics for Ben’s Song

I've been wandering too long
And I thought it would be easier to find
A man to show me a way to live
And spend these moments in sunshine
But instead it's been lonesome and gloomy
Like looking at clouds for awhile
My music seems to be my saviour
Maybe through this he will
Find me, find me, find me

Come with me young fellow
We will make it through to the other side
I hear it's the place to be
Maybe you'll stay with me for awhile
I'll show you everything I know
(Mm) Let you see my scars
Learn something new every day
Until the one day
We will part, we will part, we will part

Taking this all very lightly
Until the one day I was frightened
So if you find me, don’t pretend this means nothing
I’ll remember these times we have shared
Holding back is the easy part
Letting go never seems to end
Holding back is the easy part
Letting go never seems to end

Oh…
Oh…

Have you ever heard the sound of wildfire
Did it make you shiver and shake
In the spring when the snow had melted
All that was left was the lake
It's a haggard cloth that was used to cut
Oh my skin and bones
Would you maybe lie down with me
Down in my bed of coals

And we’ll call this home, call this home, call this home

Taking this all very lightly
Until the one day I was frightened
So if you find me, don’t pretend this means nothing
I’ll remember these times we have shared
Holding back is the easy part
Letting go never seems to end
Holding back is the easy part
Letting go never seems to end

Oh…
Oh…

The cat waits but doesn’t feel like he has wasted time
Tightroping, follows the sweep hand passing over time
If he lets go, don’t think it’s ‘cause the wind’s out of his sails,
He’s out of sight, no need for any effort, no, he just prevails
His heart dashed against glass like a TV dropped from too high, released
He dreams of an innocent life living with the Teletubbies
He’s keeping warm by the window to thaw his heart of ice
And he’s afraid, dreaming of conquering his fear ere he dies
He dreams of leaving, he dreams of taking flight fearless
He lives with the fear of getting stuck in a state of weightlessness
The cat waits because he knows that love is made of patience
Knowing that time spent waiting’s nothing more than reminiscence
The cat waits, for doing so is in his essence
And though I’m here, were I top cat, I’d be out of your presence
Cats wait, because the sweep hand does not wait,
Cats wait!

The cat waits, he knows not whether time will be the end
Of his strength so he does his best with catnip and medicine men
If you don’t know the reason why the cat chooses to wait
By the window, through rain or shine, with a look you might call sedate
The cat waits because he knows the sweep hand does not wait
The cat waits because he knows the sweep hand does not wait

The cat waits because he knows he can, yeah, he is sure
Wanting to show off the extent of his exposure
Remembering romance, his gaze fixed somewhere off to the left
Reading between the pager’s lines, of all other purpose bereft
To preserve them he’d go so far as to fight in the ring vA made-up memory of a honeymoon is that to which he clings
Going back and forth between astronaut and beekeeper
Haggling for one of Saturn’s rings to gift to the queen later
With front-row seats to drama like that of Tristan and Iseult
His nights are grey yet he gawks, his sad aura’s the result
The cat waits because he’s not always heard as he should
The cat waits because sometimes he’s just misunderstood
Seeing misunderstandings, I’ll just stand in the offing
I may stumble in the process but I still keep my standing

Cats wait because they know that the sweep hand does not wait!

The cat waits, he knows not whether time will be the end
Of his strength so he does his best with catnip and medicine men
If you don’t know the reason why the cat chooses to wait

By the window, through rain or shine, with a look you might call sedate
The cat waits although he knows the sweep hand does not wait
The cat waits although he knows the sweep hand does not wait

The cat waits, he knows not whether time will be the end
Of his strength so he does his best with catnip and medicine men
If you don’t know the reason why the cat chooses to wait
By the window, through rain or shine, with a look you might call sedate
The cat waits because he knows the sweep hand does not wait
The cat waits because he knows the sweep hand does not wait

The cat waits, he knows not whether time will be the end
Of his strength so he does his best with catnip and medicine men
If you don’t know the reason why the cat chooses to wait
By the window, through rain or shine, with a look you might call sedate
The cat waits although he knows the sweep hand does not wait
The cat waits although he knows the sweep hand does not wait
The cat waits because he knows the sweep hand does not wait
The cat waits although he knows the sweep hand does not wait

Lyrics for Mountains

all the way up the mountain
all the way down the other side

all the way the across the ocean
all the way back to the other side

who will be there
when we come down

who will be there
when we come down
who will be there, who will be there
when we go

our body is the essence
a soft light on the cloud above the mountains
we will always remember this, we will always have this
we lived through this together

J’aurais beau t’expliquer

Ahhhhh

Ahhhhh
Y’a pas juste toi, y’a pas juste toi

Translated lyrics for Juste Toi

Lying down by your side
There’s something I can’t hide
Keeping you in my sight

I’ve thought about this thing
For a while, since we’ve been
Together, it’s on my mind

No no no no
I’ve got so much stuff to say, but I never find the right words
No no no no
There’s no right way to say this, but I never find the right words

I just can’t stop myself, I just can’t stop myself
It’s not just you who makes my heart ignite
I just can’t stop myself, I just can’t stop myself
It’s not just you who whets my appetite
To be completely straight, to be completely straight
There’s not just you, there’s not just you

It’s not that you’re no good
No shame to your manhood
I’d hold back if I could

I could try to explain
But once this stuff begins
It’s a runaway train

No no no no
I’ve got so much stuff to say, but it’s gonna crush your ego
No no no no
There’s no right way to say this, but I’ve got to try and make it so

I just can’t stop myself, I just can’t stop myself
It’s not just you who makes my heart ignite
I just can’t stop myself, I just can’t stop myself
It’s not just you who whets my appetite
To be completely straight, to be completely straight
There’s not just you, there’s not just you

Ahhhhh
There’s no right way to say this, but it’s not something I can withhold
‘Cause I’ve got so much to say, but it’s gonna crush your ego

I just can’t stop myself, I just can’t stop myself
It’s not just you who makes my heart ignite
I just can’t stop myself, I just can’t stop myself
It’s not just you who whets my appetite
To be completely straight, to be completely straight
There’s not just you, there’s not just you

Ahhhhh
There’s not just you, there’s not just you

Lyrics for A Song For Home

And it all sits in peace when you’re home
You’re alone again northern Ontario
Border crossings and casinos
It’s where I grew my heart, where I got my start
I could leave, no I’m never going back
Take a Greyhound bus, 12 hours too much
But it all sits in peace when you’re home
I’m alone again northern Ontario

It brought a loathing for coming back
All the drunken laughs on downtown paths
I can’t help but think of you
I’m in love again northern Ontario
She brought me back to you
When you’re in love again, that’s all you need

She brought it back to me
(All the drunken laughs on downtown paths)
I can’t help but think of you
I’m in love again northern Ontario
