Group Fitness (Aerobics)

The following list of class names and descriptions pertain to Class A and Class B complexes that offer ongoing scheduled group exercise classes in both land and water.

The following titles can be added to any of the class names to indicate a modification to the standard format of the class when required:

Lite: Designates modified intensities suitable for those that need a slower pace, are new to fitness, or are de-conditioned.

Children: Specific to ages 3 to 13 years

Youth: Specific to ages 14 to 15 years

Family: Designates programs specific to parents or guardians and their child(ren). Participating child(ren) must be accompanied by participating adult(s) and range in age from 3-15.  Adults must be 16 years or older.

Instructor Choice: We leave it up to the instructor to decide the class format for each week. Class types will be announced in advance, choices include Cardio, Step, TMC, Intervals, etc.

Outdoor: Classes are conducted outside.  Take proper precaution and wear suitable clothing, hydrate and protect yourself with sunscreen when possible.  Classes may be conducted rain or shine so please speak with your instructor.

Schedules may be subject to change due to statutory holidays or special events. Contact the facility directly for questions about a particular location.

Dance

Party
High energy mix of dance music and movements. Bring out your inner dancer with this joyful class designed for all levels of ability and style.

Zumba®
These classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they're getting fit and their energy levels are soaring!

The Groove® Method
Groove® Method is dance fitness without choreography. Move your body your way. Get your Groove on.

Drums Alive®
Traditional aerobic exercise with the pulsating rhythms of drumming on a stability ball.  Experience dynamic movements and the power of percussion.

Masala Bhangra©
Masala Bhangra allows you to channel your masculine side with Bhangra and your feminine grace with Bollywood. Move to the beat of the dhol and unleash your inner being to a higher level.

Mind-Body

Yoga
A class that offers a series of sitting, standing and reclining poses to help open up the body and improve flexibility and muscle strength. Modifications are proposed to accommodate different levels. Styles and sequences vary based on each instructor.

Power Yoga
An uninterrupted sequence of movements and poses based on Ashtanga yoga, a dynamic and physical form of yoga synchronized with the breath.

Pilates
A class where we introduce foundational moves that develop core strength, proper posture, pelvic and hip stability (to combat low back pain), all while enhancing muscular strength and endurance.

Tai Chi
A gentle and peaceful way to tone and strengthen the body while improving concentration, coordination and balance.

Stretch 
An all-over stretching and flexibility segment to increase the range of motion of major muscle groups through passive or PNF stretching techniques.

Yoga-Pilates
A class that combines mind and body disciplines, such as yoga, Pilates and fusion fitness training.

Cardio

Step
Provides exciting combinations of movement on and off an adjustable platform.  Improves coordination, aerobic endurance and works the muscles of the lower body.

Cardio
A choreographed cardio class combining movements considered controlled impact as well as explosive and/or high impact.  Participants choose their own impact level.

Cardio - Lite
A choreographed cardio class with controlled impact. Intensity level options offered throughout the class.

Cardio Blast
Challenge your cardiovascular fitness with combinations of high impact and/or controlled impact, Step, Skipping, Martial Arts...  Anything goes with this fast paced, heart pumping workout.

Piloxing™
Transform yourself into a tough, agile boxer, graceful ballerina and hip street dancer all in one workout!  PILOXING™ blends the muscle sculpting of Pilates, the strengthening and cardio of boxing, and the fun of dance into a high energy cardio workout. 

Kickboxing
A high-intensity supervised class that combines non-contact boxing and kickboxing moves into its choreography: punching, dodging, kicking and jumping rope. 

Nordic Walking
Low impact, high-energy ultimate workout that enhances your walking with 20-40% more caloric expenditure.  Excellent for cardio, posture and upper body strength through the use of Nordic poles.  All fitness levels welcome.

LeHIIT™
LeHIIT incorporates a full body interval workout that is fun and effective. Combining High Intensity Interval Training with familiar fitness choreography and high-energy music, you will explore strength, speed, agility and power using Tabata-inspired timing and partners!

Strength

TMC
Total muscle conditioning using your own body weight and a variety of equipment such as stability balls, resistance tubes, gliders, steps, hand weights, etc.

Core Conditioning
Muscle conditioning targeting core and stabilizer muscles. Strengthen and tone your abs, back, glutes as well as improve overall posture and balance.

TRX®
TRX® training is a unique workout that uses your own body weight and the TRX® suspension system to create dynamic exercises for every muscle. Develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously, all at the intensity you choose.

Combo

Sports Conditioning
Athletic, sports-based skills and drills workout where speed, agility, plyometrics and highly coordinated sports specific movements will be incorporated.

Bootcamp
An intense class to improve your strength, speed and power through basic cardio training and muscle conditioning. A great class for those who like to push their limits.

Circuit Training
Timed stations set up to alternate between cardio and strength training. Work at your own pace to boost your metabolism and tone your body.

Interval Training
Participants are led through a multi-level class alternating between muscle conditioning and cardio drills. Modifications are provided to help you workout at your own level.

20-20-20
20 Minutes of hi-low, 20 minutes of step, 20 minutes of strength/stretch

Party Hardy
Join the Party and pump it up through the use of hand-held weights. This class provides an extra strength training component to a great cardio mix of international music and dance movements.

Cardio and Strength
A cardiovascular class consisting of a sequence of aerobic movements followed by strength training exercises with or without equipment.

Step and Strength  
A cardiovascular and strength training class consisting of a sequence of aerobic movements set to a musical rhythm and performed on an adjustable platform.

TABATA
A high intensity interval training based on the Tabata method of 20 seconds anaerobic exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. Repeat 7 more times and feel the burn!

LeBARRE™
LeBARRE is a dance-inspired workout like no other! Combining balance, agility, resistance, and eloquence into a challenging full body workout, LeBARRE will make sure no muscle goes untouched. No dance experience or pink tights required!

LeBOOT™
Designed to elevate your fitness level, LeBOOT combines old-school strength moves with functional, multi-planar sequences in a “recess” atmosphere.

Older Adults

Cardio and Strength for OA
A gentle fitness class that promotes cardiovascular health, endurance, strength, flexibility and body awareness.

TMC for OA
Total muscle conditioning using your own body weight and a variety of equipment such as stability balls, resistance tubes, gliders, steps, hand weights, etc.

Cardio - Lite for OA
A choreographed cardio class with controlled impact. Intensity level options offered throughout the class.

Party On
“The Party” class designed for the older adult. Groove to a high energy mix of international music and dance movements. Bring out the dancer in you with this totally joyful class!  Designed to embrace all levels of ability and style.

Zumba Gold®
The  Zumba® formula with modified the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Have fun with zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton, exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves, and an invigorating, party-like atmosphere.

Yoga for OA
This Hatha Yoga class reduce stresses, develops inner awareness, flexibility, balance & strength through yoga poses and movement.

 Pilates for OA
A class where we introduce foundational moves that develop core strength, proper posture, pelvic and hip stability (to combat low back pain), all while enhancing muscular strength and endurance.

 Tai Chi for OA
A gentle and peaceful way to tone and strengthen the body improving concentration, coordination and balance.

Aquafit

The terms “deep”, “shallow” or “combo” will be added to the class names to indicate pool depth.

Aqua - General
A general aquafit class designed as a medium intensity total body workout, providing a balance of cardiovascular as well as muscular strength and endurance components. A great introduction program offering easy choreography and lots of options for intensity.

Aqua - TMC
A medium to high intensity muscle focused class. This program uses the water as the primary training tool with the option of using props for building muscular strength and endurance. All major muscle groups will be targeted providing a total body workout experience.

Aqua - Turbo
A high intensity class! It focuses on building cardiovascular strength and endurance through challenging routines of intervals and higher intensity options. You will keep your heart rate and pace up throughout the class and learn to train in both aerobic and anaerobic zones. Provides a definite challenge for veterans and avid participants.

Aqua - Lite
A low intensity program designed to meet the needs of varied clients; retired adults, arthritic sufferers and individuals with non-specific back or joint difficulties. A low impact total body workout that offers a blend of cardiovascular as well as muscular strength and endurance training combined with specific attention to core stabilization and relaxation techniques.

Aqua - Party
Take “The Party” to the pool! Feel the energy of dance moves. Enjoy this dynamic and exciting class full of international and exotic music flavors. You’ll be blasting calories through styles such as salsa, belly dancing, African beats, hip hop and so many more vibrant styles.

Aqua - Zumba®
Integrating the Zumba® formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba® class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that's cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

Aqua - Bootcamp
Integrating the high intensity of interval training concepts designed for land based bootcamp training with the added benefits of the resistance and turbulence of the water.

Cycling/Spinning®

Group Cycling
Indoor group cycling class offering a combination of intervals, sprints, hills and endurance training.

Group Cycling - Endurance
Indoor group cycling class where your heart rate parameters remain between 65% and 75% of your maximum heart rate.  A great class for developing a strong aerobic base.

Group Cycling - Recovery
Indoor group cycling class where your heart rate peaks at 65% of your maximum heart rate.  This class is designed for those athletes who need that active recovery.

Group Cycling - Strength
Indoor group cycling class where you will be challenged with bigger gears and steep seated and standing hill climbs. Your heart may peak up to 85% of your maximum heart rate.

Group Cycling - Interval
Indoor group cycling class offering a combination of intervals, sprints, hills and endurance training, peaking heart rates up to 90% or more!

Group Cycling - Race
Indoor group cycling class where your sustained heart rate throughout the duration of the class stays between 85% and 90%!  Consideration should be taken in appropriate training preparation prior to trying out this class.

Spinning® - Endurance
A flat road ride where heart rates range between 65-75% of your maximum heart rate

Spinning® - Strength
An all hills ride where you develop the endurance and strength in your legs to climb hills while maintaining a heart rate of 75-85% of your maximum heart rate.

Spinning® - Intervals
An “all terrain ride” where you peak at heart rates of 92% and drop down into recovery heart rates of 65%

Spinning® - Race Day
Race Day simulates an intense "race" environment, allowing students to monitor training and gauge improvements in fitness. The heart rate range will range between 85 and 92% of your maximum heart rate.

Spinning® - Mix it up
A combination of Endurance and Strength and/or Interval.

Spinning® - Theme Day
A ride designed by the instructor based on a musical theme or a ride profile such as Tour de France
