Frequently Asked Questions

What is a No-Swimming Advisory? How will it affect camp?

A No-Swimming Advisory is issued when Ottawa Public Health recommends that beach-goers do not enter the water due to high levels of bacteria. For the certification camp, alternate arrangements will be made to transport candidates to and from other sites to ensure enough practice in water.

What if it rains?

Camps will run rain or shine. Please bring a change of warm clothes. Indoor space is available at the beaches. In the event of thunderstorms or other extreme weather conditions day plans will be modified as needed. We will be sure to notify parents if candidates from the certification camp are transported to a different site.

Where do I drop off participants?

Sign in and out at each site is located at the beach pavilion. You will not be able to miss us!

What are the pre-camp and post-camp hours?

  • 8 to 9 am Pre-Camp, Drop Off & Sign In
