Frequently Asked Questions

What is a No-Swimming Advisory Day?

How will it affect camp? A No-Swimming Advisory is issued when Ottawa Public Health recommends that beach-goers do not enter the water due to high levels of bacteria. Most camps will simply modify their day and stay dry. The JWLC certification camp will move to a different site to ensure candidates spend enough time in the water practicing their skills.

What if it rains?

Camps will run rain or shine. Please bring a change of warm clothes. Indoor space is available at the beaches. In the event of thunderstorms or other extreme weather conditions day plans will be modified as needed.

Where do I drop the candidates off?

At each location there will be large flags and a tent for sign in and out. You will not be able to miss us!

Is there pre and post care services?

Pre and post care services are included in the hours specified.
