Burden of Injury Report, 2010
The Burden of Injury in Ottawa report 2010 provides an in-depth assessment of the type and frequency of injuries affecting children, youth and adults in Ottawa. Data from emergency department visits (ER visits), hospitalizations and deaths from 2001 to 2008 help paint a picture of the injuries most affecting Ottawa residents.

The Cancer in Ottawa 2012 report provides an epidemiological overview of cancer incidence and mortality in Ottawa for frequently occurring cancers of public health importance. The Cancer in Ottawa 2012: Knowledge to Action Report outlines current and future cancer prevention strategies offered by OPH and identifies other cancers not covered under current initiatives that may benefit from new strategies and partnerships with community stakeholders.

Enhanced Street Youth Surveillance in Ottawa 2011
This report describes results of the Enhanced Street Youth Surveillance Study (E-SYS), which was conducted during the fall of 2009 in Ottawa. This surveillance study is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada and demonstrates Ottawa Public Health’s (OPH) contribution to national surveillance data.

Enteric Disease in Ottawa Report, 2011
To better inform the planning and implementation of strategies that address enteric illnesses in Ottawa, Ottawa Public Health compiled the Enteric Disease in Ottawa, 2011 report, which provides data from 2010 about 15 reportable enteric diseases. The report includes the number of cases, incidence by age, sex and time of year, five-year averages and comparison with the rest of Ontario.

The Morbidity and Mortality in Ottawa 2012 report provides an epidemiological overview of morbidity and mortality in the City of Ottawa, where possible compared to the rest of Ontario. These data help assess causes of morbidity and mortality. Indicators of morbidity and mortality include hospitalization rates, life expectancy and mortality rates.

The Ottawa Student Drug Use and Health Report 2014 offers a snapshot of health risk behaviours among youth in Ottawa using data from the Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey (OSDUHS).

Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey 2009 –2011
The Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey (OSDUHS) was conducted during the 2008/09 and 2010/11 school years. The OSDUHS surveys a random sample of students in grades 7 through 12, enrolled in the public and Catholic school systems. The survey has been repeated every two years since 1977, making it the longest ongoing school survey in Canada. A representative sample of 1,200 Ottawa students completed the survey in 2009 and 1,015 in 2011. The survey will be repeated in 2013 to help assess trends over time.

Results from the Older Adults Falls Prevention Survey
In 2012, OPH conducted the Older Adults Falls Prevention Survey by telephone with 1,050 Ottawa adults aged 65 years and older living at home. The fact sheets and infographics are intended to help service providers who work with older adults to tailor awareness and education campaigns on preventing falls, to support client education, and to inform program priorities and policy development. A description of OPH, partner and community falls prevention services are included at the end of each fact sheet.

A Review of Tobacco Indicators 2012
The purpose of this report is to highlight important trends in tobacco in the population to support Ottawa Public Health (OPH) and its partners address strategic and operation decisions. The report portrays a current view of the prevalence of tobacco-related behaviours and the inevitable morbidity and mortality and cost attributable to tobacco use and exposure to second-hand smoke.

Infection Prevention and Control Investigations
The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has directed all Ontario public health units to publicly disclose information on infection prevention and control (IPAC) lapse investigations. At this time, standard criteria for public reporting of IPAC lapses are under development by the Ministry.
