Development Plan And Strategy
A series of workshops to produce a development plan and strategy for Centrepointe Only a few places in the city possess all of the key ingredients to create a vibrant, flourishing "town centre." The area bounded by Centrepointe Drive (to the west), Baseline (to the north), Woodroffe Avenue (to the east) and Tallwood Drive (to the south) already boasts the key components for a town centre – a civic facility that includes a public library and theatre, an active residential neighbourhood, a myriad of private and institutional places of employment, a secondary school, robust retail and commercial businesses, linkages to recreational facilities, and a major transit facility in the centre of it all. The vision established by the Baseline and Woodroffe Secondary Plan (adopted by the former City of Nepean) can best be realized by producing a strategic development plan that meshes the community’s independent elements in a meaningful and marketable fashion. Its aim: to create a dynamic hub in the community that is fully integrated within a revised road network, shared parking system and a public transit station. Shaped by choice, not by chance – this is Centrepointe Town Centre. Individuals along with community and business organizations are invited to participate in a creative exercise to explore ideas for these lands, and to produce a development plan and strategy for the future.
