The Employment and Financial Assistance branch delivers the Ontario Works program and the Essential Health and Social Supports program. Ontario Works provides financial and employment assistance to people in temporary financial need. The Essential Health and Social Supports (EHSS) program provides help with health and/or housing expenses and other special items or services for low-income residents of the City of Ottawa. If you need help with your living costs, we may be able to help.
