Cleaning the Capital encourages and supports community involvement in the City’s spring and fall cleanup efforts. Entire communities – including schools, neighbourhood organizations and associations, businesses, families, friends and individuals take up the annual Cleaning the Capital challenge.
A record 87,409 participants made Cleaning the Capital 2009 the most successful campaign to date! Let’s build on this success and make our 2010 campaign another record year!

Important fall dates
August 15: Registration begins
Register your litter pickup or graffiti removal project prior to September 14 to become eligible to win an early bird prize donated by our generous sponsors. Remember to record your registration code provided when you register online.
September 24 to 26: Capital Cleanup Weekend
If your project takes place during Capital Cleanup Weekend, a campaign sponsor and/or your city councillor may visit your team during your registered cleanup!
October 15: Registration ends
October 31: Deadline for submitting your online Cleanup Report
After you have finished your cleanup project, don’t forget to complete and submit your online cleanup report! Complete it by October 31 and your team will be entered in a draw to win fabulous prizes donated by our generous campaign sponsors. Don’t forget, you need your registration code to access your cleanup report form.
