Physical Activity

Despite these proven benefits, physical inactivity is a major public health concern as Canadians are becoming increasingly less active. Our fast paced lives, television, computers and need for convenience are all contributing factors to this growing problem. Unless we de something to change our inactive lifestyles and obesity rates, the steady rise in life expectancy that our era has witnessed may come to an end. This could result in the youth of today possibly living shorter lives than their parents (New England Journal of Medicine, 2005). The good news is that we can turn this trend around. Physical activity can fit into our busy schedules and can be fun.
