Saturday, February 24, 2007
1 to 4 p.m.
Hintonburg Community Centre
1064 Wellington Street West

The City of Ottawa has commenced three projects that will consider important elements of the Hintonburg / West Wellington / Mechanicsville neighbourhoods. Specific to the Wellington Street West corridor, the City is preparing a Community Design Plan (CDP) to influence land use planning and a Functional Design that will be the basis for the reconstruction of the street infrastructure. As well, a broader Neighbourhood Plan is being developed for the Hintonburg/Mechanicsville neighbourhoods. These activities are being coordinated under the shared name Neighbourhood Planning Initiative (NPI). The general study area is shown here.

Project Drop-in Day

There will be on-going communication and public involvement with residents, landowners, and the business community. Public input and comment will be welcomed throughout the study processes. The first public contact, a Project Drop-in Day, will be an informal public open house that will provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about the project objectives and how to become involved.

Note that the Functional Design process will fulfill the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment that may apply.
