Council voted on November 16, 2009, to conditionally approve the Lansdowne Partnership Plan between the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG). The plan includes the refurbishment of the Civic Centre and the development of a 24,000 seat stadium which can be expanded for special events and can be used for professional football, soccer, open-air concerts and a variety of other events.

The stadium will be developed by the OSEG group and will include a number of opportunities for the public to participate in the process.
