Return your empty LCBO containers for refund to The Beer Store

NEW! All wine, beer and spirit containers greater than 100 ml in size purchased in Ontario on or after February 5, 2007, should be returned to The Beer Store for a full deposit refund. This includes glass bottles, bag-in-box, Tetra Pak containers, plastic bottles (PET), and aluminum and steel containers on which deposits have been charged. Find your local return location on the Ontario Deposit Return Program Web site at bagitback.ca.

  • Empty paint cans with lids removed

  • Spiral-wound canisters with metal ends (frozen concentrate cans, potato chip tube)

Plastic

  • Plastic bottles, jars and jugs
  • Tubs and tub lids (yogurt, sour cream, hand cleaner, margarine containers)

Cartons

  • Milk and juice cartons

TC Tetra Pak

  • Drink boxes
  • Soup boxes
  • Milk boxes

Your blue box should not weigh more than fifteen (15) kg when full.

  • Styrofoam packaging
  • All plastic bags
  • Bakery and produce plastics such as strawberry or cake containers
  • Hard plastics such as dishes, cups, toys, make-up jars, plastic buckets, laundry baskets
  • Motor oil bottles

Check Take it Back! and Disposal of Special Items to find out if any of these items can be returned for reuse. Otherwise, place these items in your regular garbage, ensuring that glass items are securely packaged to avoid injury while being collected.
