Exterior view of a large L-shaped brick building with multiple storeys built in the 1960s.

The Geological Survey of Canada turns 175 this year! The facility built between 1955 and 1959 brought together the historic specialities of paleontology, chemistry and mineralogy-petrology. Discover the research taking place at one of the oldest institution in Canada. Visit some of the laboratories, check out a field camp, and bring your rocks and minerals for identification by our geologists!
