Job Summary

Under the direction of an archivist, provides assistance with the appraisal, arrangement, description, preservation, and making available of archival records in the custody of the City of Ottawa Archives; assists with the physical control of archival holdings; and assists with the day-to-day operation of an archives reference service.

Education & Experience

Post Secondary Student (completion of first year College or university): History or related discipline / Museum Studies / Archival Studies

Minimum of four (4) months but less than eight (8) months of related experience is required: Experience in a client-service environment.

Language, Certificates & Licenses

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction.

English oral, reading, writing required.

Students must supply own CSA-approved, green patch safety work boots.
