Job Summary

Responsible to function as a member of a survey crew.

Education & Experience

Post Secondary Student (completion of second year College or university):

Second year post-secondary student in Geomatics (preferred) or a related field.

Minimum of eight (8) months but less than one (1) year of related experience is required:

Experience in a geomatics field preferred (eg: legal surveys or GIS) or a related field.

Language, Certificates & Licenses

English oral, reading, writing required.
French oral, reading, writing may be required for some positions.
Candidates must meet language requirement for position upon hire.

Students must supply own CSA-approved, green patch safety work boots.

Total Station equipment

3 degree MTM coordinate systems

Competencies & Skills

Capable of operating a personal computer to assist in data downloading

Must be thorough and meticulous

Courteous and informative character when dealing with City staff and the public

Must demonstrate initiative and responsibility

Documents observations in a clear, concise manner

Ensures that electronic data is stored in a correct manner

Operates City vehicles in a safe manner and performs daily vehicle maintenance checks
