Job Summary

Responsible for performing a wide range of duties expected of a Truck and Coach Technician, including, but not limited to, the following: conducting diagnostic inspection of vehicles, performing general mechanical overhaul and repair work, and performing daily maintenance repairs. The incumbent performs all unit changes or repairs to Fleet vehicles including but not limited to transmission, brakes, suspensions, electrical components, injectors, radiators, steering, differentials and air systems; as well as making miscellaneous adjustments to doors, destination signs and other vehicle systems.

Education & Experience

Completion of secondary school (Grade 12) or equivalent plus completion of a journeyman's certificate of qualification as a Truck and Coach Technician.

1 year experience, following attainment of certification

Language, Certificates & Licenses

Trade certification of qualification from the Ontario Ministry of Training/Colleges/Universities, or other provincial/licencing bodies, if recognized by the Province of Ontario, as a Truck and Coach Technician (310T)

Successful completion of a pre-employment ergonomic assessment is required.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction.

English oral, reading, writing required
