Description

Anne Wanda Tessier is an Ottawa-based artist, painter and printmaker whose works focuses on colour, shapes, patterns and text. She enjoys exploring the use of repetition in her works with variations in medium and content. Tessier has participated in several artist-in-residence programs and printmaking projects in Australia, Canada, Europe, and the United States. Her works concentrate on daily habits, positivity and being present in the moment. Recently, she has collaborated with other artists, peers and members of the community to produce installations and artworks comprised of letter-pressed compliments and a bus shelter installation utilizing content compiled from friends, studio visitors, and the members of the community. Tessier appreciates employing traditional methods that allow her to work slowly and mindfully such as; ceramics, letterpress printing, etching, linocut, block printing and silk-screening. Tessier graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1998 where she studied Visual Arts and Business Administration. She has been producing works and exploring various mediums and printing techniques for over 20 years and has exhibited in various commercial and public gallery spaces in Canada and Europe.
