Para Transpo customers now have new ways to pay their fare on both minibuses and taxis.

New smartcard readers are now live on all Para Transpo minibuses and taxis. The readers allow you to pay with a Presto card, credit card, or mobile wallet on a smartphone. A debit card option will be available soon.

To pay your fare, simply pass your card or your activated phone to the operator once you have boarded.

If you use ParaPay, your account will remain active and will not change if you choose to start using Presto. If you are using a Presto card, you can choose to pay per trip using e-Purse or use a monthly pass. Payment by credit card will always charge a full Adult fare.

Customers eligible for an age-based discounted fare can set their discount on a Presto card in-person at a participating Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws or Real Canadian Superstore location, or the OC Transpo Customer Service Centre at the Rideau Centre. Customers who have a Community Pass or EquiPass discount can call 613-560-5000 to have the discount added to their Presto card.

Register your Presto card at prestocard.ca to protect your balance in case of a lost card. Para Transpo customers can also register their credit card at prestocard.ca.

Presto cards are available online at prestocard.ca or in-person at OC Transpo ticket machines, participating Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstore locations, the OC Transpo Customer Service Centre at the Rideau Centre or select City of Ottawa Client Service Centres.
