In response to traffic issues raised by residents of Fringewood Drive, the City of Ottawa has initiated an Area Traffic Management (ATM) study that will examine traffic conditions and driver behaviour on this roadway. The intent of the study is to develop potential traffic calming solutions to address these identified traffic concerns.
It should be noted that this ATM study is separate from the Fringewood Drive Paved Shoulders and Sidewalk Project that has already been initiated to add paved shoulders and a new section of sidewalk along Fringewood Drive.
The study area of the Fringewood Drive ATM study and the existing traffic conditions, including vehicular speed, volume, and reported collisions, are available in the Fringewood Drive Study Area and Existing Conditions document.
We encourage interested members of the public to fill out the below-noted online survey that should take about 5 to 10 minutes of your time and is available online until September 9, 2018.
By filling out this survey, you can help us identify the primary traffic concerns on Fringewood Avenue and also inform us of what you envision might be an appropriate solution for making this a better roadway, for all users including residents, pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and motorists.
Your comments are welcome and encouraged at any point during this study, as we develop different options for technical evaluation and public discussion.
