The City of Ottawa has initiated an In-Service Road Safety Review (ISRSR) of the Hunt Club Road and Riverside Drive intersection. The intersection has been identified as one of the top-ranking locations for signalized intersection collisions in Ottawa. The ISRSR will examine safety issues at the intersection and explore ways to improve safety for all road users.
Initial findings indicate that the southbound right turn, eastbound through and westbound through movements at the intersection have experienced the highest number of recorded collisions in recent years. In addition, rear-end collisions were the most common collision type experienced at the intersection.
The intersection is currently operating above capacity during the weekday peak periods resulting in extensive queues on all approaches.

The intersection is located immediately west of the Rideau River and is surrounded by undeveloped land to the north west , a gas station and fast food restaurant to the south-west, the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club to the north east, and the Hunt Club Market Place at to the south-east.
The public is invited to partake in an online survey to share both safety concerns and to provide ideas on how to make the Hunt Club Road and Riverside Drive intersection safer for all users. The information provided will be taken into consideration as part of the In-Service Road Safety Review (ISRSR) of the Hunt Club Road and Riverside Drive intersection initiated by the City of Ottawa.
