Mayor Jim Watson and Osgoode Ward Councillor George Darouze presented the Mayor’s City Builder Award at City Council today to Allan and Judy Graham.
During the course of their business career with AJ’s Catering, Allan and Judy Graham have become strong sponsors of charitable organizations within the Osgoode Ward. After retiring from the business, they have continued their volunteer efforts, more specifically with the “Fries for Charity” activity consisting of a self-contained french fry truck which can be booked for charities to support their fund raising efforts. These activities have included support for the Osgoode Care Centre, and helping to organize the annual “Busting out the Brews” event. Allan also served as MC at the event, the most recent of which raised over $71,000 for the Osgoode Care Centre’s redevelopment fund.
Allan also volunteers with the Greely Lions fundraising events, is founder of the neighbourhood Albert Bowers Outdoor Rink and continues to maintain it with other volunteers. He is also President of the annual Shroomfest fundraising and is Chairman of the annual Metcalfe Fair Car Show. Judy has been equally busy volunteering with the Metcalfe Fair and the annual Shroomfest for the last five years.
Allan and Judy have a true understanding of philanthropic giving and certainly lead by example. The community is fortunate to have such inspirational support from this couple.
