City ready to raise Fury flag for their pitch for USL playoff glory

Mayor Jim Watson and Ottawa Fury FC General Manager Julian de Guzman will be joined by Fury FC players, team mascot “Sparky” and members of the community as they raise the Fury flag at City Hall to kick off the hometown team’s journey for the 2019 United Soccer League (USL) championship. Fury FC will host the first USL Championship playoff match at TD Place Stadium on Wednesday night.

Date: Wednesday, October 23

Time: 1 pm

Place: Heritage Building, Elgin Street entrance, Ottawa City Hall

This is Ottawa Fury’s first appearance in the USL playoffs since they joined the league in 2017. The franchise was last involved in the playoffs in 2015 when it played in the North American Soccer League (NASL) and advanced to the finals.
