Election signs must be returned to candidates after election day

October 21, 2019
Announcements and Events

The City reminds residents that election signs on both public and private property must be removed within 48 hours after voting day, Monday, October 21.

Residents must not put election signs with their curbside waste or recycling. Waste Collection Operators will not pick up election signs set out at the curb.

Election signs need to be returned to candidates for proper disposal. Candidates or their representatives can dispose of signs with the City’s recycling processor, Cascades Recovery Plus, or call 613-742-1222 for more information.

All regulations for election signs on private and public property in Ottawa are set out in the Signs on City Roads By-law.
