Ottawa Public Health is investigating a person who tested positive for COVID-19, who travelled from Trudeau International Airport in Montréal to Ottawa (Barrhaven area) on November 24 leaving the airport at approximately 8:30PM using a private rideshare service during the contagious period.
As part of the COVID-19 case management and contact tracing process, Ottawa Public Health follows up with close contacts of individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19. If Ottawa Public Health is unable to identify close contacts of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, a public release may be issued to reach those contacts.
The male individual who picked up a single ride-share passenger from Trudeau International Airport in Montréal for transport to the Barrhaven area in Ottawa in a white car is advised that they were likely exposed to COVID-19 during the following period:
Tuesday, November 24 at approximately 8:30PM, arriving in the Barrhaven area in Ottawa at approximately 10:30PM
If you picked up a passenger from Trudeau International Airport in Montréal to transport to the Barrhaven area in Ottawa in the above noted timeframe, you should monitor closely for symptoms of COVID-19 until December 8 and follow these instructions:
You should immediately self-isolate and call Ottawa Public Health to speak with a public health nurse at 613-580-6744. If you are calling after hours, please leave a voicemail message with your contact information.
Ottawa Public Health recommends to travel by car only with people in your own household. If travelling with others outside of your own household, wear a mask avoid any shared food or drinks, and avoid car travel with others if you’re sick.
