Residents urged not to park on streets as storm cleanup continues

December 31, 2019
Announcements and Events

City road crews have been working around the clock plowing, sanding and gritting roads and sidewalks in response to Monday’s winter storm. Work will continue today.

Information for drivers:

  • The City will advise residents when the winter overnight parking ban is lifted.
  • Please avoid parking on streets at all times of the day so that plows can remove snow from streets more efficiently.
  • Please be patient and keep a safe distance behind working snow plows.

Exercise caution when driving, cycling or walking and allow extra time for your commute today.

Service requests

The number one priority for City road crews during the storm is to keep Highway 174, the Transitway and major and arterial roads clear. Residential roads are cleared as soon as possible. Please avoid contacting the City about your neighbourhood roads unless it is an emergency.

Please clear snow away from fire hydrants and catch basins connected to your property, if it is safe to do so. Please check on neighbours who are elderly or may have mobility issues.
