Traffic impacts scheduled for the week of December 11

December 7, 2017
Announcements and Events

Upcoming road work projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:

  • St. Joseph Boulevard – The road will be reduced to one lane in the westbound direction between Gabriel Street and Maisonneuve Street until December 15. The sidewalk will also be closed and pedestrians will be detoured to the other side of the street. The lane closure is required to allow for repair work on a Bell underground structure. Access to adjacent residences and businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • River Road – The road will be closed to traffic between Balmoral Drive and Leitrim Road from December 14 to 20 to allow for the replacement of the culvert under the roadway.
  • Montreal Road – Lane closures will be in effect on Montreal Road between North River Road and Lacasse Avenue from December 11 to 15. Work will take place over night each night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The lane closures are required for rehabilitation work on the sanitary sewer along Montreal Road. No parking and no stopping signs will be installed for the duration of the work.
  • Airport Parkway – The road will be reduced to one lane between Hunt Club Road and Walkley Road with flagging from Monday, December 11 to Friday, December 15. Work will take place over night each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The lane reduction is required for culvert replacements. Expect delays. A safe and accessible path of travel will be maintained to direct pedestrians around the construction site.

Signed detours will be in place to direct motorists around the closures. For more updates on construction and road work activity across the city, or for information about traffic and travel planning, visit the City’s Traffic Report on ottawa.ca or follow the City’s traffic account on Twitter.
